Abenteuer Museum (Adventure Museum)

After 20 successful years as an outstanding example of cultural education, Abenteuer Museum still remains extremely popular. It is aimed at children from pre-school to Year 8 (14 years old). Various courses are organized that are specially suited to the child’s age and experiences of life thus far, which seek to encourage children to look at art and history in a creative and hands-on manner. The main aim is not the acquirement of knowledge, but to offer the children an approach to the world based on tolerance and enthusiasm. Over the years, Abenteuer Museum has built up a wealth of experience through the collaboration of museum pedagogues, teachers and parents, in order to find the best way to organize this after-school programme, and to reach as many children as possible from all types of schools. Abenteuer Museum puts on a twice-yearly programme in about 20 museums and exhibition halls. There are also special offers for school classes, such as free guided tours for classes with children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
