Berlin-Istanbul 2009
In 2009 the German capital celebrated the 20th anniversary of its sister city relationship with Istanbul. Together with numerous Berlin initiatives and in close cooperation with the Turkish metropolis, various events were organised to mark the occasion in both cities. The jubilee celebrations highlighted the vitality and variety of links between the two capitals and encouraging their relationship in the long term.
