4th Long Night of Operas and Theatres

One night at the theatre in 57 venues and not less than 150 sequences

Date: 28^th of April 2012

Place of action: Steglitz, Charlottenburg, Wilmersdorf, Tiergarten, Moabit, Mitte, Friedrichshain, Schöneberg, Kreuzberg, Tempelhof, Neukölln, Weißensee, Pankow, Prenzlauer Berg und Lichtenberg

Acting characters: the teams of 56 theatres, die-hard theatre fans and curious first-time visitors, Berliners and Berlin visitors, night owls and culture addicts.

Plot: at 6:30 p.m. the starting signal for the 4^th Long Night of Operas and Theatres will drop at both information centers which are setup at Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz and Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz. Busses on 7 routes and another quick transfer route between Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz and Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz will set themselves in motion. At 7 p.m. performances will start in 56 houses, which alter at every hour and approximately last about 20 minutes. The visitors are going to be spoilt for choice! You may compile your personal evening at the theatre from more than over 150 programs. On offer are: opera, play, dance, cabaret, vaudeville, theatre for children, classics and modernity, congeniality, wit and excitement.

For every child who is not allowed to stay up longer this evening Brotfabrik, Galli Theater, Theater an der Parkaue, UFAFabrik and Zimmertheater Steglitz are offering programs from 4 p.m. on. For those who are allowed to stay up longer many more venues offer programs for children and teenagers to join in and watch.

Perhaps your son or daughter is pushing him- or herself to the stage and being an actor, dancer or acrobat. Thus we recommend a visit at BAT-Studiotheater der Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch or UNI.T, the theatre of the Universität der Künste Berlin, Berliner Schule für Schauspiel, Staatliche Ballettschule Berlin or Staatliche Artistenschule Berlin. Here students will be giving insight information on their education and showing excerpts of their current coursework.

Tickets: 15 €/10 € (concession)

Children up to the age of 12 pay 5 € only.
